Incentives
Rebates, grants, and incentives have sprouted up across Canada to help reduce the cost of installing an EV charger. These incentives can come from a variety of sources. The most common rebates come from your Provincial and Federal Governments.
Federal
Natural Resources Canada: Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program
Applications are open until August 11th, 2022.
NRCan’s contribution through this Program will be limited to fifty percent (50%) of Total Project Costs up to a maximum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) per project and up to a maximum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) per project for Delivery Organizations.
Applications from Ultimate Recipient to Delivery Organizations will be limited to less than $100,000.
Available to: Multi-family, workplace, public sites, fleet, and municipalities

Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program – Delivery Organizations
Nova Scotia
EV Boost is helping to bring more Level-2 EV chargers to eligible organizations in the province. Through funding provided by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), Clean Foundation will help to support the deployment and installation of up to 250 EV chargers.
Yukon
Government of Yukon: Yukon Level 2 charger rebate
50% of total costs up to a maximum of $4,000 per installed charger for:
multi-unit residential buildings;
commercial buildings; or
institutional buildings.
This includes municipal and First Nations government-owned buildings.
Multiple rebates are available for other building types up to a maximum of 10 chargers per location.
Charging station incentives are limited to the number of EV incentives received by a resident or organization in a 12-month period.
The EV VIN is required to claim the incentive. The name on the invoice must match the name on the EV registration(s) and must be from a Canadian supplier.
British Columbia
CleanBC rebates for BC Hydro & FortisBC customers
Apartments & Condo Buildings
A rebate of up to $5,000 per charger to purchase and install Level 2 networked EV chargers at your building’s residential parking spaces, to a maximum of $25,000
Workplaces
Workplaces can get a rebate of up to $5,000 per charger to purchase and install eligible Level 2 networked EV chargers for employee use, to a maximum of $25,000.
Prince Edward Island
RESIDENTIAL

Program for ISLAND BUSINESSES to install EV Chargers
Provincial Announcement July 12th, 2022
This is #EVWeek in Canada and today, the provincial and federal governments announced funding to support the installation of as many as 250 EV chargers across the Island by the end of next year.
The PEI Electric Vehicle Charging Fund will support up to 75% of eligible costs for business, academic and community organizations in PEI to install commercial EV chargers in public parking areas, workplaces, light-duty vehicle fleet parking, and designated multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs).
Who is eligible for EVCF funding?
In addition to Island businesses, non-profit organizations are also eligible. Your organization must be a not-for-profit entity incorporated in PEI. This includes First Nations and organizations, municipal governments or their departments, community organizations, electrical utilities, companies/businesses, research associations, standards organizations or academic institutions.

NB Power Plug-In NB Rebate Program
New Brunswick residents or organizations who receive a vehicle rebate through the NB Power Plug-In NB Rebate Program are eligible for a rebate of 50% of the cost to purchase and install one new level 2 EV charger, up to a maximum of $750.
Charging station incentives are limited to the number of EV incentives received by a resident or organization in a 12-month period.
The EV VIN is required to claim the incentive. The name on the invoice must match the name on the EV registration(s) and must be from a Canadian supplier.
Plug-In NB Charging Rebates for Business – NB Power
Quebec
Charging station at multi-unit residential:
The financial assistance granted for the acquisition and installation of charging stations for multi-unit residential buildings will be the lesser of the following amounts:
50% of eligible expenses, OR
$5,000 per wireless charging station, OR
$5,000 per connector for charging stations with one or more connectors that allow the equivalent number of electric vehicles to be recharged simultaneously

The financial assistance granted for the acquisition and installation of charging stations in the workplace is equal to 50% of eligible expenses up to a maximum of:
$5,000 per wireless charging station
$5,000 per connector (for a charging station equipped with one or more connectors)
